Friday 7th November saw the gathering of IRC and PY skippers, crews and families for the annual prize giving dinner at the Royal Western Yacht Club of England in Plymouth.

Trophies were awarded to many well known yachts but we were proud to be present to see the two Archambault A35’s “Waterjet” skippered by Steve Northmore and “Magic Roundabout” skippered by David Pike and the Dufour 34 “Scallywag” skippered by Stuart Barker receive silverware.

An excellent evening was had by all and we look forward to next seasons racing results.

The Dufour Performance range are adding two new boats to its range for next season the Dufour 34E and Dufour 45. These are handsome cruiser racers which will delight the competitive racer as well as the family.

The Dufour Grand Large range are adding the Dufour 405 to its cruising range. This 40 foot yacht will give the cruising family large amounts of space down below but will not disappont on performance.

The new A31 has evolved from the success of her bigger sisters, the successful A35 and A40rc, which have produced results all over the world. She will be fun to race as well as to cruise. The yard have taken into consideration every last detail on the new A31. She has been designed to IRC rules and we are expecting great results from her.

The first new A31 will be on the water in the Spring 2009 but contact us now as they they are being snapped up!

From September 12th to September 20th Wessex Yacht Sales staff will be at Southampton Boat Show helping clients to view the Dufour and Archambault range of yachts. We are all hoping for dry sunny weather so that the occasion can be enjoyed by all.

Dufour Yachts

We are presently preparing boats for the Dufour berths at Southampton Boat Show. On view will be the Dufour 365, 425 and 525 Grand Large and the Dufour 34, 40 and new 45 Performance. Come and see us on berths 338- 343 and 359- 360. The new Dufour 45 Performance is having its world debut at Southampton and is sure to be a head turner. Come and see these beautiful yachts that are best suited to fast cruising or racing.

Archambault Yachts

The very successful Archambault A35 and Archambault A40RC will be on berths 318 and 319. The A35 has been very successful around the country in IRC championships and the A40 RC being shown is owned by the Army Sailing Association and was a Commodores Cup contender. She has raced successfully in this years offshore events.  Come and view these exciting racing yachts.

This Bank Holiday weekend saw the IRC South West Championships in Plymouth. The weekend got off to a very blustery start but from the beginning the two Archambault A35’s were head to head. Sunday saw an exciting day of  Championship racing.  The top 5 boats in the fleet ran a very close race all weekend but the event was won by Archambault A35 “Waterjet”, 2nd Prima 39 “Mighty Max”, 3rd Hod “Sir Ducktion”, 4th Archambault A35 “Magic Roundabout” and 5th J133 “Apollo”.
